Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Packplug Inc. ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the OnlyFlowers mobile application (the "App"). By using the App you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address, a password (stored securely, in hashed form, by our authentication provider), and optionally a display name and profile photo you choose to provide.
- Flower photos you submit. When you scan a flower, the photo is sent to our servers and to our plant-identification provider to identify the species. Photos are used for identification and to show you your result; we do not use your photos to train identification models.
- Identification history ("Discoveries"). We store the species you identify, along with timestamps, so the App can show your discoveries and care guides across sessions.
- Approximate location (optional). If you allow it, approximate location may be sent with a scan to improve identification accuracy. You can decline this.
- Subscription status. If you subscribe, we and our subscription provider record whether your subscription is active. Payment is processed by Apple; we never receive your full payment card details.
- Device and usage data. We may collect basic technical data (device type, app version, crash and performance diagnostics) to operate and improve the App.
2. How we use information
- To identify flowers you photograph and generate the associated content.
- To create and manage your account and your saved discoveries.
- To provide, manage, and restore your subscription and premium features.
- To operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the App.
- To communicate with you about your account or the service.
3. How we share information (sub-processors)
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the App, and only as needed to provide the service:
| Provider | Purpose | Data shared |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Accounts, database, file storage | Email, display name, profile photo, discoveries |
| Pl@ntNet / Plant.id | Plant identification | Flower photos you submit |
| Anthropic (Claude) | Generating species content | Species name only (no personal data, no photos) |
| RevenueCat | Subscription management | Anonymous app user id, subscription status |
| Apple | Payments and App Store delivery | Handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy |
| Railway | Backend hosting | Data processed by the service above |
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
3a. Third-party AI services, and your consent
Two third-party services with AI components are involved in producing a flower dossier. We tell you this inside the App and ask your permission before any photo leaves your device:
- Pl@ntNet (plant identification). The single photo you take with the shutter, or the one photo you choose from your library, is sent to our server and then to Pl@ntNet so the species can be identified. Nothing else from your camera roll is read or uploaded. The photo is used only for that identification. It is not sold, not used for advertising, not used to train identification models, and is not retained as part of your account after your result is delivered.
- Anthropic (Claude). The written content of a dossier is generated from the species name only. Your photos, your email address, your account details, and your location are never sent to Anthropic.
Consent. Before your first scan the App shows a disclosure screen naming the data sent, who it is sent to, and what it is used for. No photo is uploaded unless you tap “Agree and continue”. You can withdraw that consent at any time in Profile → Privacy and data → Photo identification; the App will then ask again before the next scan.
4. Data retention
We keep your account information and discoveries for as long as your account is active. Submitted photos are processed for identification and are not retained as part of your account beyond what is needed to deliver your result. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with law.
5. Your rights and choices
- Access and correction. You can view and edit your profile in the App.
- Deletion. You can delete your account, which removes your personal data as described above. You may also contact us to request deletion.
- Regional rights. Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
- Photo and AI processing consent. You can review or withdraw your consent to photo identification at any time in the App under Profile → Privacy and data. Withdrawing it stops further photo uploads; the App asks again before your next scan.
- Subscriptions. Manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your Apple ID settings.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, which may have different data-protection laws. We take steps to protect your information consistent with this Policy.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
